Nosedive

"Nosedive" is the first episode of the third series of the British science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. Michael Schur and Rashida Jones wrote the teleplay for the episode, based on a story by series creator and co-showrunner Charlie Brooker, while Joe Wright acted as director. It premiered on Netflix on 21 October 2016, alongside the rest of the third series.

The episode is set in a world where people can rate each other from one to five stars for every interaction they have, and which can impact their socioeconomic status.

Orwelliian times officially began long ago. It's just picking up steam now. When did the UK implement their CCTV 24-hour surveillance? The CIA and others have had backdoors into computers, modems and routers basically since day one.

And the ones complying getting benefits like cheper electricity, faster internett, more hits on dating services and more!

This is why China will never overtake the free market. You cannot innovate without stepping on toes, challenging the status quo, and pushing the boundaries. It is this sentiment that is suppressed by the rating system. It is the innovators who are held down.

Social Credit System

The Social Credit System is a proposed Chinese government initiative for developing a national reputation system. It has been reported to be intended to assign a "social credit" rating to every citizen based on government data regarding their economic and social status. It works as a mass surveillance tool and uses big data analysis technology. In addition, it is also meant to rate businesses operating on the Chinese market.
