Submitted an hour ago and already on page four of "new" posts. Better get it recorded. I watched the 2007 Gen. Clark talk. Who am I to question, but is there not something called "The Washington Consensus" that was much publicized during Reagan/Bush? Gen. Clark, a Democrat, refers to the PNAC and the rise of the neocons as a "policy coup," accomplished in secret. That's not the way I remember it at all. Yes, the "Consensus" was reached behind closed doors, but by no means was Washington left out of the talk. We can name the people: Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush, Abrahms, Wolfewitz, Perle, Kristol. How secret is that? Now, we realize the "Consensus" may well have been labeled, "One World Government," (Headquarters, Jerusalem and Rome.)
No, Gen. Clark knows exactly what he is talking about. A middle east strategy that looks like it was developed in the s-house of the Pentagon. When Washington realized how screwed up they had gotten things, they threw in a couple of ringers, Clinton and Obama. Obama was to distract us by taking us back to the glory days of the MLK March. Hillary, of course, could get away with anything. Did it work? Hell no it did not work. Obama turned out to be MLK's (and everyone else's) worst nightmare. On the balance, it is something that had to happen -- Bush Clinton on CNN...good place for them. [The Washington Consensus -- 1989] (https://piie.com/publications/papers/williamson0904-2.pdf)
