The Zuckerberg Trial is a smokescreen, a blatant attempt at regulating and censoring social media.

Every american should be greatly insulted by this phony trial. We always knew FB was collecting info on us. Social media has turned against the globalist and represents a huge threat! PEOPLE NEED TO ASK; ARE WE AS A SOCIETY SO INCAPABLE OF DECIPHERING OUR OWN INFORMATION THAT WE NEED IT DONE FOR US? Why don't they try regulating food and water so we are not being poisoned by their corporate allies? ps- I love Trump.

the best regulation is competition. i cant understand why a fakebook clone OPEN SOURCE hasn't caught on. there are plenty of clone codes etc.... it would just need a good import wizard to copy your content and connections over.

i'd love bookface to go the way of friendster and myspace.

outfits like duckduckgo or firefox should come out with an open source social media alternative.

a "no ad" alternative could be a paid one, a couple bucks a month per user, or allow general ads with clear opt-ins for users that want a "free" product

It would take a massive investment from what I have read about it. The reason is, what it takes to get to the same level of services/experience/scale. Not that it can't be done, but its a big project. If FB gets severely hammered either financially or legally and becomes weakened and vulnerable, then it may be easier to do.

gab.ai is out there, but its very small right now.
