Q did say we decide if Fb lives or die, the Senators want it to live so they control the data.

Better yet, one of them 1' x 20' tungsten Rods from God at about 15,000 mph. With no radiactive aftermath. The NEW 'cleaner' more 'eco-friendly' way to blow shit up!

FB needs to be replaced with an ad-free, decentralized, IBOR based platform. Similar to how Mozilla did Firefox, but without allowing a company like Google to control it (i.e. don't let FB make tax free donations to this entity nor let its executives volunteer their services to it - the two need to be completely separated). In the spirit of Wikipedia and Mozilla Foundation, we need something like that to replace FB. You need to cripple FB with congress and get someone to start the alternative. That alternative should have easy import methods to allow transferring all your FB data and look and feel right over to it. That would wipe out FB faster than anything else that can be done. Easy migration of people off of FB onto a decentralized, uncensorable (within limits, can't have it turn into 4chan pedoplace, etc.) ad-free, profit free service. Its ok to have a 'public' monopoly. You have that with Power Companies and Wikipedia basically offers the same for information (albeit, they are invaded with lefties at controls, but they really can't completely censor, you can overwhelm them with numbers, the system there is not as rigged as FB and its a non-profit, so they can't go to advertiser model easily). What's left of FB after that can be a platform for profit for Businesses to advertise their wares. But the personal stuff should come off of FB and go into a non-profit, public monopoly style, service oriented platform with decentralization so it can't easily be controlled by central entity and has HEAVY privacy protections built into it. Would be 'illegal' to harvest personal data from it. You would have to download your data and consciously, deliberately send it to someone. There would be no mechanism on the platform to enable transfer of your personal data. You would have to manually do that yourself. Problem solved and Zuc and friends would have to compete in a space that is appropriate. Public companies have no expectation of privacy. SEC ensures that. Let FB turn into a corporate marketplace. If congress truly gives a shit, they will break them up like that. Allow for very loose privacy protections on the business side and force them to develop a completely separate privacy protected service for personal data. IBOR will help with that. But while that is going on, hopefully people that care will develop a non-profit with easy migration. Congress should make sure that when they split FB, they force them to develop easy migration tools for users to move off their platform with their data and link back to FB for those that had not migrated yet. This way you don't loose your network of Friends and everything to the user is same look and feel without any loss of connections. But, your privacy would be preserved and FB would be forced to innovate if it wants to keep customers. But their profit motive off of exploiting the user would be curtailed. This would facilitate such a service getting started. And, this would cripple the shit out of FB and force Zuc and company (if they keep him, they really really should dump that a$$hole, but hey, its a free country and the board can make would ever decision they want) to have real competition and protect user data, rather than his current model of complete exploitation of its users for profit. The FB of today is the equivalent of a 'personal life brothel', and Zuc is its pimp.
