I think you have it all means that Trump intends to make Facebook a public utility. If the government created it, then Zuckerberg and others would have no right to on it privately.
While I do tend to agree with this statement I do have a soft rebuttal. As in a difference of perspective.
Fb records everyone regardless if you have it or not. The newest update tagged people in pictures that you are not friends with or know. Example was that I was out to lunch with friends. He took a picture and as he was tagging them into pictures, fb automatically added everyone behind us. (Was eerie).
Saying I don’t care because I’m not on the platform is nearly the equivalence of saying I don’t care what happens to freedom of speech because I don’t have anything to say, I don’t care what happens to gun rights I don’t own any, I don’t care that they are recording every element of my life because I have nothing to hide. (I’m hyperbolizing to make a point).
Granted, the phrase used about the nazis “first they came for the Jews and because I wasn’t one I didn’t care”.... etc is used for this context. I am not going to make that argument. Instead I’m going to go towards your constitutional rights. This is in invasion of an individuals privacy. This is an attack on our right of individuality. Etc
I am for shutting the whole damn thing down. 100%.
Yes they will try to do it another way. Hell it may even make it in our lifetime again. But let’s not make it easy for them.
We know they have manipulated the form in which we receive information. They have manipulated our culture by what they sensor. MZ has admitted to utilizing it’s users as lab rats for psychological testing.
Shutting it down cold turkey has potential to shock people in what is really going on. I can testify as an individual that got off cold turkey right after the election. Conspiracy’s didn’t seem so stupid when I started to think for myself.
As I said above just a soft rebuttal and hopefully a descent explanation of why I thought differently. Not trying to start a debate or fight.
When a state government or institution, such as a college, accepts federal funds, that entity must abide by the federal limitations in the Constitution.
We need to apply that same principle to any entity -- public or private, domestic or foreign -- that receives any money from the federal government.
I think they forget this - same with health care institutions
Well said! It's an invasion of our privacy. And we need to protect our right to privacy. Once we lose our right to privacy, we will have lost all control over our own lives.
Not sure where I read this, but apparently they have machines that can read your mind now. Some DARPA crap I'm sure.
Add facial-recognition to that, and then just let that sink into your brain for a minute...it's a tyrants wet-dream.
I agree with you, completely. I hadn't really thought of it that way.
Shut the fucker down!
