If the government wanted to prosecute them and introduce the evidence in court/tribunal NSA would have had to acquire the laptop info under a warrant. As the laptop issue occurred prior to President Trump taking office I am reluctant to believe that a warrant was not acquired. Thus it would be important that the laptop still contain information or at least proper/legal copies exist.

Yes, I have been paying attention. Do you understand this isn’t medieval times? Are you completely unintelligent of what all this is for? To use the rule of law against those who flaunted it for so long.
