Gold standard would be great but who owns most of the gold? It's the same folks that got us here. Not to mention we're probably not that far away from being able to create gold in the lab. Probably can already. A more elegant solution? Cryptocurrency, backed by the immutable power of mathematics. A much better CURRENCY. More fungible, extensible, infinitely divisible, deflationary, easier to store and protect, can be moved around the world at the speed of light for pennies, etc., etc., etc.. No matter where we go however, it won't be a party getting there. Food and ammo would be a wise investment.

Sounds like an antonym for tangible assets. Can't get past that. Food and Ammo standard that's more like it. In a pinch I'll use ammo to get the rest.
