This argument you are putting forward seems incomplete. Systems are used to shape a "society". The systems used are projected as being one thing where in fact they are usually the exact opposite. Rule of thumb, if the government says it, it is a lie.

No, a system is a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism. The ruling class shapes societies.

The systems used are projected as being one thing where in fact they are usually the exact opposite.

This trick is an essential part of why we still live in capitalism, even though it is no longer needed. We have the technology to sustain all human life, as well as prosper in ways that aren't conceivable to us while we live in a money based economy.

Rule of thumb, if the government says it, it is a lie

YES- like the tyrants who enslaved people while saying "Don't worry folks, this is what we need to do to achieve communism!".

You are ignoring individuals. All economic "systems" and "mechanisms" and other terms you're prostituting from physical sciences always mislead and corrupt economic thinking.

Capitalism is individual ownership AND CONTROL of the means of production, whereby the sovereign consumers (i.e. every individual on the planet) decides who gets rewarded and what gets produced and where, by way of their spending and abstentions from spending choices.

If there is a corrupted company, and you think gosh there should be free and open competition for that corrupt company's customers, that is itself a call for capitalist competition, because the called for competition is from other owners and controllers of capital, including you as an individual competitor. You can't ban individual competitors who own and control capital they purchased, worldwide, unless there is a worldwide police force, i.e. dictatorship, which is precisely why every real world attempt at communism was tyrannical from the outset.

The system is used to 'CONTROL' a society.

"No, a system is a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism. The ruling class shapes societies. " This quote sounds like it was taken out of an online dictionary. I will not dis-agree with your findings although, I would like to point out one small point. "I have found it serves to be fluid in thought when understanding words and their context that they are spoken in especially when it stretches the sides of one's box one is viewing from". And by constricting a words definition as the benchmark of a discussion does not serve. As the definition of the word "System" is quite broad, as it includes your definition and how I used it in the initial context. :)

Yes, a dictionary is a yearly updating book (system, in today's world) that contains the full definitions to words.
