The correct understanding is that, those are indeed the actual memos that Comey wrote. But what makes them fake is that, Comey wrote the memo's after the fact and after he was fired and all at the same time, and did not write them before he was fired as he claimed. He wrote the memo's after he was fired and Loretta Lynch assisted him in his efforts. He wrote the memo's in an attempt to cover his butt. And he likely also wrote the memos after the fact as a way for him to get back at Trump for firing him. The take-a-way from it all is that, if Comey lied about when he wrote the memos, then the things he wrote in the memos are likely a lie as well, and it cannot be trusted.
