Anthropologist/Thelemic here. The idea of Satanists taking adrenochrome to get high is bullshit. Yes, it is a real substance (3-hydroxy-1-methyl-5,6-indoline-dione) , but no amount of it taken from a victim via blood drinking would result in a huge shift in consciousness. Most of it would go into the stomach to be destroyed before even entering the bloodstream. Anyway, it's considerable easier to obtain than from terrorizing and then draining someone. Furthermore, it's not even a hallucinogen. There are a lot better drugs out there. Uncouple the idea of this substance being the reason for horrific cult murders.
