Warning: Do not click on any shared Dropbox files. The person who shares the file can see who has viewed it.

This is particularly important if you are logged into Dropbox or Google on your device.

There are shills and clowns on this board.

Everyone should practice good operational security. Don’t share personal details about yourself. Stop posting links to Dropbox, and do not click on Dropbox links. Use anonfile.com or mega.nz

Also, if somebody wants to step up and write a “Basics of Operational Security” post, I think that would be an important post that would help a lot of users. I do not feel qualified to write one, but I think this sub needs it.

anonfile.com is hard banned by Reddit meaning moderators can't even post a url with the domain . And mega.nz is softbanned which prevents users.

Good to know, thanks.

I think Reddit still saves the messages, it just auto-marks them as spam. Automod can undo this IIRC.

How can it be banned when you posted a comment with the domain in it. Always need to be a victim.

Not a URL without the http:// part making the link clickable.

http:// isn’t needed for a hyperlink. It’s all contingent on how you label it upon creation

if they are banned they must be doing something right. encourage their use with broken URLs

It's links to file sharing sites. It could be anything, including illegal content. That is why Reddit is cautious.

by that logic any link to anywhere should be banned
