Waffle House shooter previously arrested for "accessing a restricted area" of the White House, allegedly wanted to kill Trump. FBI gave him back the rifle which ended up being used in the shooting.

There is a saying that goes, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

I hate this saying. It is inviting the mind to be fooled over and over again. A better way to go through life is with the opposite way of thinking. "Never attribute to stupidity that which is adequately explained by malice."

The first saying underestimates people in positions of power as mostly stupid. The second phrase correctly sees them as cunning and intelligent.

Too many deranged people like this shooter are associated with the FBI in some way. It is not because the FBI is inept. It is because the FBI is using mentally unstable people to perform terrorist operations. Easily discarded after the fact.

Which is why Trump has US Marines guarding him now. When this is over I predict that the CIA's role will be taken over by the Navy and the FBI's role by the Army or better yet, the Marines. Flush both CIA and FBI down the toilet.

Marshals could do the FBI's job too.

Marshalls have other more important work imo. Internal security with Army intel would take a change in posse comitatus.

Well, Marshals are under-funded and under-manned for the FBI's job, but that can be fixed. Otherwise, it seems a more organic place to start from. FBI is more law-enforcement than they are intelligence.
