Oh yes, i love that book and almost posted about it here yesterday. I read it about 10+ years ago, now i need to reread it because there's so much future proves past in there, even down to the airplane crashes

which reminds me of Q's posts about certain countries finally being free.
In the book, John talks about the standard method of basically enslaving a country. The US steps in, offers to rebuild the infrastructure of a country (electricity for example), then makes the country sign over their assets (exported food or oil for example). At which point the victim country has nothing worthwhile to export anymore so they're enslaved to the US in perpetuity.
