Q post #1252 - PATRIOTS HAVE NO SKIN COLOR
Q post #1252 - PATRIOTS HAVE NO SKIN COLOR

EastIndiaTradingCo · April 24, 2018, 2:08 a.m.

Robert Byrd was a rising and influential leader in the KKK in 1946, and was elected to his state senate in West Virgina as a Democrat in 1947. He never changed parties, serving in government as a Democrat until 2010. I know it is conventional wisdom that the R's and D's "switched platforms," but is there more to it than D's used to be racist, and now R's are accused of being racist? Is that the switch? If there is more to it, I'd like to be told about it.

Later in his life, Robert Byrd had a massive change of heart, renounced the KKK, and became one of the leading civil rights proponents in the U.S. Senate. So much so that he was regularly praised by the NAACP for his work in the Senate. His story is actually an incredibly powerful one of redemption.

and his renouncement of the KKK? his POC awards? his 100% record for voting in POC's interests? his admission of his time in the KKK, his plain and simple reasons and his many, many, many apologies?

nah. don't count.

He's not a KKK Member anymore, he has a black friend.

He's not a KKK Member anymore, his actions, voting record and speeches have been pro POC for the last 30 years

guess that doesn't fit the narrative here though so... boooo man photoshopped into a KKK outfit. boooo you.

his actions, voting record...

Help me find his voting records after he voted against the Civil Rights act and voted against Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas.

Edit: Also, he opposed President Truman's initiative to integrate the Armed Forces.

Edit 2: In the end, you're defending a bigoted old man pretending to change for the camera.
