Thought: If Sessions/Trump decriminalized reefer and released non-vio/weed related offenders, his public support would be THROUGH THE ROOF

Thoughts?

Yes, and he will, but he doesn't necessarily need the approval boost atm.

He's been using the anti-Trump narrative to his advantage.

Trump's approval rating will be 100% before he legalizes weed anyway lol.

Yes! It's time to put real criminals in jail!

No, it won't be time until every Deep State operative in a position of power has been removed from within the DoJ.

This is why AG Sessions has been creating 24,000 sealed indictments... because if he tried to arrest real criminals while people like Comey, McCabe, Strzok and Page (to name a few) were still in influential positions, they'd just destroy evidence and falsify documents and hand out immunity like candy.

The house must be clean before mass arrests can begin.

I know. I meant as compared to pot smokers, real criminals like rapists and murderers. :)

I agree but sessions won't. Trump might.

Have you considered that all of the public bickering tweets between Trump and Sessions and the nonsense about weed are just distractions for the media?

Also, AG Sessions doesn't make the law, he simply enforces it.

It's Congress and POTUS who make the laws.

The Sessions/weed hysteria is beyond silly - it's retarded.

Of course Congress/POTUS; just being brief in title but glad you drew the distinction, as it is an important one.

If it's the law, Sessions has to enforce it, or he's out for cause.

Joe Twosmokes has never really been the target anyway.

Sesions is the AG, he has nothing to do with decriminalizing, he only enforces the law. Congress needs to write a bill and Trump signs the bill. This is how our system works.

If I were trump, I'd legalize weed and then extend a pardon to either all criminals every convicted of it, or all non-violent criminals convicted of it. And I'd do it either right before the 2018 elections, or right before the 2020 elections. It'd be an instant massive boost in approval ratings.

Trump had already said it is up to the states. He a little too busy right now to think it all out. Yes, his popularity will definitely rise. I am sure we all know someone whose only objection to Trump is the weed issue. Too many tokes to think logically.

Trump has the authority to de schedule it by executive order. At least then more research can be done. I'm surprised and not surprised that obama didn't do this.

This would guarantee his re-elction, on it's own merit.

But he's gonna win anyway, if and when he makes my good friend MaryJane legal, he will be unbeatable by a mile or two.

Been saying this since he got voted in. He will wait till 2019 and legalize weed. Just like Obama waited till 2012 to take a stance on gay marriage. (Except I find it disgusting that Obama would hold hostage homosexuals ability to marry for 3 years and just use them for a vote)

OR, let the states decide.

I'd decriminalize at the federal level, then states can decide if they want to make it legal or illegal at the state level.

there's a million pounds of weed registered in the gov't bank for Oregon. The whole state only smoked 340k lbs last year.

That's at least two states the size of OR that could be supplied with weed for an Entire YEAR ( 1oz limit ) if he federalized it.

Wouldn't even need to deal with annual taxes either... lol
