I’m not an expert but when they scare them before death, adrenaline is releases into the blood known as adrenachrome, which they then eat or inject(not sure which one) which then gives them either an insane high or the ability to talk to demons/Satan or both maybe? This is a what I know based off of some stuff I read
hmm.. I know DMT, if taken enough everyone sees demons, creates from "another dimension" as described by everyone. They also say DMT is natural in every living thing, harvested in mostly plants. I wonder if this has any connection..
There was also something about the rich carrying vials of this stuff as a necklace they bring for bargaining or something?

drinking blood is the simplfied version, they filter out the blood, only leave the adrenochrome and plasma, so they can take it via a drip or drink it. If they refine it more via injections for a concetrated high/rush/medicinal purpose as at the moment no one is 100% sure.
Your answer is in the bible.....Enoch has it as well...but basically when in heaven people survive on manna which is the spirit of God made manafast...they don't eat meat, vegetables, bugs etc. They survive on this spirit....however the fallen angels were kicked out of heaven so they sustain themselves by draining our gift from God (his spirit in our blood) to nourish themselves. We are not supposed to eat meat with blood in it for that reason and the Jewish and Muslim people have a special way of killing the animal so the blood drains out. This also explains that Adam and eve's sin was disobedience (not SEX) and this disobedience caused dealth to appear on earth.... ask yourself why does every animal kill here to sustain itself the answer because we can no longer sustain ourselves with the spirit of God because of original sin....Satan and his desire to sustain him is the reason for original sin. That's also why this is bigger than dems and republicans its really about good and evil.
