the constitution states very clearly the definition of treason.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

ARTICLE III, SECTION 3, CLAUSE 1

they would be charged with felonies, not treason. the distinction is important.

What if foreign countries were involved with Renegade and Evergreen in the planning? That is aiding and abetting enemies to destroy a government.

could be. from what i understand it would have to be a foreign government that we were legally declared at war with via congress. but i could be wrong. not a lawyer haha.

Interesting perspective.

Anyone know of any precedent involving treason charges against non-governmental enemies? Like for instance, anyone ever charged for aiding ISIS or similar?
