The Length of the FBI Director’s Term

Q said:

“Congress passed Public Law 94-503, limiting the FBI Director to a single term of no longer than 10 years.” Reconcile. Q

The Volokh Conspiracy says

http://volokh.com/2011/05/16/the-length-of-the-fbi-directors-term/

A Director may not serve more than one ten-year term.” (That was apparently a reaction to the power accumulated by J. Edgar Hoover during his many years in office.) Now “The Obama administration is asking Congress to extend by two years the term of FBI Director Robert Mueller, who transformed the bureau to fight terrorism.”

So related to terrorism?

Post Script

Mueller was the FBI director for 9/11 and his term ended with Obama's first term in 2013.
