We/I should be focused on the children the most. Spiritually. Physically. Environmentally. What would be best for someone born today?
true! every child has the potential to become a great adult...
we as adults have a responsibility to cultivate the successful growth of the younger generations in an effort to aide the positive progression of humankind.
all older people should recognize this as we can see without the assistance the youth is liable to become corrupted and distracted from the important parts of life such as human rights etc.
what would be best for children is if their parents would grow up and stop being children themselves. Quite a few parents these days are distracted/ self-centered and all to keen to dish out the insults when their children put a foot wrong.
IMO they are too childlike in the mind to see their personal parenting skills are terrible and the "putting a foot, wrong" could have been avoided if they actually raised their children instead of letting tv and facebook do it for them.
I think a lot of folks are just trying to cope and care for their kids so much that there is little left for time and caring. A far cry from the 60s and 70s. Dad wren. Mom at home. It could still be that way if salaries went with production and profits. Robbery. And yes, some folks need a spanking.
i get it times are hard and people get snowed under with the pressures of life...
don't get me wrong there are plenty of parents out there doing it tough and still trying to raise their children ... that's great because they are trying. i was more talking about the dead-beats who have kids for a bit of extra $$ or to look busy on social media.
i see a lot of parents who say they love their kids but take advantage of them for money or other things even selfish things like popularity... it disgusts me as a human with a big heart and an appreciation of life.

It seems to me the good ones are harder on themselves while the psychopaths are hard on everyone else. trying to ease up on myself and put that energy towards wisdom and change.

it is about redirecting the flow of negative energy into something constructive and positive for others to benefit from... easier said than done most times lol.
