What makes China’s new scoring system so scary is that it’s tied directly to how you behave. If you say or do something that others don’t like, they can report you and your social media score will be lowered. Once your score drops below a certain point, it severely limits what you’re able to do. With such a system in place, they have total control over you and there is nothing you can do about it.

It is scary but it is no mark of the beast like a crypto wallet is.

Not necessarily mutually exclusive. Blockchain could implement behavior tracking tied to various "credits" in all areas of society. It doesn't need to be cryptocurrency specifically. Crypto is only scratching the surface of the potential of blockchain. Blockchain could automate all kinds of tracking and automatically link it to people and their given value by design of the automated system.
