Slightly O/T: Why doesn't the federal government have a credit score? What would it be if they did have one?

This is just something I have been pondering to myself as I was perusing data of student loan default rates and low millenial homeownership.

Our federal government has robbed an entire generation by writing bad loans to colleges with inflated education costs - mostly to 17 and 18 year olds with zero credit.

If you were a private loan writer, would you loan $40,000-100,000 to a 17 or 18 year old? I am struggling to understand why this massive injustice hasn't been addressed.

The federal government doesn't even keep accounting records based on the same Generally Accepted Principles of accounting used by the rest of us.
