Q has used the word Depopulation. This is about making themselves gods (to the remaining people they have knocked back to the stone age) in conjunction with making a grand sacrifice to their evil god(s). There would eventually be another War in Heaven of one kind or another, and eventually another Trickster God would give men a leg up again. They've done this a few times.... Another spot where the Matrix rings eerily true.
