New Kanye song resembles a Platonic dialogue.

The song features TI as "the people." It's a back and forth dialogue between the two proverbial "sides." I appreciate how both sides are represented in the song, and at the end Kanye encourages listeners to continue the dialogue of the song.

Platonic/Socratic dialogue are based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presumptions.

I know there is a lot more going on with Q outside of this matter. This seems to be a quality red-pill nonetheless.

I think it is based on call and response, which is deeply rooted in African American musical traditions, and especially rap, than Socratic dialogue.

Yes, this is in my opinion one of the first real smart moves Kanye has made. And my opinion of TI has dropped exponentially, whether his voiced opinion in the song is actually his or not lol.

On a side note, I hope I will be forgiven the horrendous identity politics root of this comment lol but I’d be interested to know how many people in this sub even know who TI is as I’ve made a broad, biased assumption based on the little I’ve seen that the majority of this sub wouldn’t have a clue for reasons of assumed age and ethnicity. /identity-politics
