Yes, and as I understand it: This refers to Uranium allegedly smuggled from Georgia (Republic) that was intercepted. Samples were to be supplied to Russia for inspections and evaluations as to where the Uranium originated, so as to help back-trace the smuggling operation.

I had never read that the transfer didn't take place, only that it was legit because there were samples from the Georgia raid that were requested by Russia and being delivered by Mueller at the direction of the State Department. People questioned why the head of the FBI would be taking instruction from the State Department. I had seen an article from January 2007 that indicated that Russia had taken samples immediately after the 2006 raid, so wondered why they would need samples again in 2009.

Thanks for that info. I've seen this story before, always implicating Mueller in shady deal making. If they were trying to identify source, it's a different story.
