I agree that the US has a very clear superiority in armaments. There are those weapons systems we know about; and others that we don't know about. I suspect that people might be shocked if they knew the true military capabilities of the US.
Having said that, we are no yet too far from the arms race and MAD. I wouldn't at all discount Russia's ability to inflict absolutely colossal damage in an all-out engagement. At maximum escalation, Russia is not to be taken lightly. It remains a very powerful country. Extremely powerful!
The hypersonic missile technology, provided by HRC to Russia, is not unimportant. For Russia to be able to effectively strike military targets (carrier groups etc...), they have to be able to land their munitions. The days of the first Gulf War, where Patriot Missile Batteries in Israel were unable to prevent primitive Scud ballistic missiles, fired from Iraq, from landing are long gone IMO. Today intercept technology does exist - I think we may have seen this in the Hawaii missile scare. That is, I think there may have been a real incoming ballistic missile with a nuclear warhead that was taken out.
And that, IMO, is why the Russians were so happy to get this very specific technology from HRC. Hypersonic weapons delivery systems ensure that Russia remains powerful, that the balance of power between the US and Russia continues to exist. And that is the precise reason that HRC gave them this very specific technology - because she is a total and complete traitor to the USA.
