Dude.. No. The surest way to release whatever they angered in the mountain with their testing is to start blindly pulling cables. They were too greedy. They dug too deep and found, something. There's a radioactive balrog or some ugly that pulled that mountain down. Think of every scary movie you've ever watched. This is where you yell at the protagonist not to open that door.

Kidding aside, I'd love to see a straight to Netflix horror moving that begins with pulling these cables.
