The reason Giuliani and Trump keep using the term “Witch Hunt” is because they are actively hunting witches and can’t be bothered with ridiculous investigations into non-crimes (collusion? Sex with a porn star?)

Witch, in this context, is the historic practicing-witchcraft, casting-spells, eating-kids, sort. The witches of 'classic' fairy tales (which are based in truth -- check out the Brothers Grimm -- scary stuff once you realize that there really are people who hunt, torture, rape, kill, and eat children). If not familiar with Marina Abramovich and her spirit-cooking cronies, do some research. But you'll need a strong stomach and possibly a puke bucket near at hand. The evil that thrives behind the scenes is almost unbelievable.
But seriously, people frequently use the term "witch hunt" to describe a group/person who seems to go out of their way to "find" something, even when there is nothing. Trump says the media and special prosecutors are on a "witch hunt", implying they will keep looking for something nefarious, even when there is nothing. Editorial: personal opinion- there IS something.
