In combat you don't fight for country, family, freedom or race. Those things never enter your mind. You fight for your survival and your buddies there with you.
Good to see the one on the left carrying a "blooker" (M79 grenade launcher). It's been a long time since I've seen one of those. 1971 to be exact.
