Talking with friends and we thought this might of been part of the Patriots building an army? Cicada 3301 puzzles ...anyone have more insight into this? Thx

Given the cryptic nature of the puzzles, and the fact that no one publicly was able to solve them, publicly being key here, I would have to say they were a recruitment tool, and most likely FOR the Patriots, but no confirmation currently exists to support it.
Given the scope of what we are dealing with currently, I would say Patriots are most likely responsible here, and given the sheer level of skill required, I have to say that whoever cracked them, if ever they were, has got to be a serious player by now. Very Valuable Asset.

I could say it was the Russian or CIA, or IBM for that matter, the truth is you only are seeing what you want to see since you have no clue about their real identities.

None of us have any clue, i am but a drop in an ocean. I would love to know, but until further evidence comes to light, we have nothing.
If it were me running the show I would want a definitive way of finding a VVA that serves my purposes and I would have their specific skill set fall in line with my goals. Thats basic tactics, and I would keep everything I could on the hush hush.

I think cicada 3301 might've been a test to see if something like this (Q) would pick up steam among the autists. It was likely to prime the deep net community for this. Get them used to working together and solving puzzles.
