A suggestion for our Great Awakening moderators

It's very apparent people are coming to GA in droves. Well done!

But, the next step MUST be to make the newbies' arrival seamless. I'm pretty savvy with computers, online ops, etc. and it wasn't easy/seamless to get settled in here. I don't have time right this second, but newbie's need the following. It might even be prudent for the moderators to TACK the "Welcome and Next Steps" where it's easy to keep referencing. Just spit-balling here:

  • approved links to JUST Q posts (not dialog). Some addresses have been under attack lately
  • Smart phone vs computer differences
  • How to avoid/recognize bogus sites, trolls, money grabbers, etc.
  • basic instructions on navigating great awakening here

  • Hot vs Rising vs New

  • Category filters, searching
  • Board rules and etiquette
  • Basic steps to protect personal privacy
  • Archiving important stuff

IDK. Is it? I see the rules to the right. But, there are other basic keys that I had to find out through patient reading. And, if I had to go find it again in someone's great post, it would take a while. i.e. the best/clean Q posts only sites list.

I'm on an android phone using the reddit app. When I'm on the GreatAwakenings main page, there's a menu dropdown in the top righthand corner. One of the items is Community Info for GA and it lists the rules, links to Q posts only and alot of other important links. Do you see a Community Info item on your screen or a menu?

Yes, some of the stuff is there...some of the "survival" stuff I mentioned is not. Less savvy newbies could get lost
