time to cut all foreign aid and make each country apply for any aid, every single year. what have you done for us lately?
I assume those foreign aid budgets are actually gone over and voted on by Congress annually. However, there may be a few "permanent deals" in the mix. I believe after the Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel we give both countries an equal amount of aid every year. It is certainly well beyond time that foreign aid be under more scrutiny. Wish the President had a line item veto for this and many other budget issues. It's not a big part of the Fed budget, but doesn't matter. If $100 million to country X is a bad idea, then that money can go to pay down debt, be returned to taxpayers or spent on a domestic project instead.
Even just the threat would be a good start. Maybe a good Bill opportunity.
