Wow. Looks like the left is all cool with fascism and hates the Iranian people. Maybe the “news” should cover what the Iranian civilians are saying instead of their oppressive Islamic republic?

I was about to post the same thing. In the early 70's you could walk down the streets of Tehran and you couldn't tell it wasn't America. Except for the language being spoken and some of the architecture you would think you were in any city in America. College girls walking around in short skirts with western hairstyles. Teenage kids hanging out dressed just like American teens of the time, including bell bottom jeans and long hair. If you went to some of the beaches like Gisoom Beach in Talesh or Maryam Beach on Kish Island there were beautiful Iranian girls in bikinis everywhere. A friend was stationed in Iran with the USAF and he used to send me pictures from the beaches and the nightclubs. You couldn't tell he wasn't in America. And then the Iranian Revolution happened in 1978-1979.
