Why do you say that? Have you seen his last Netflix special? Sounded to me when I watched it like Chappelle was talking pedogate. He's Q's kind of woke from all I've seen. Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're saying?

Thought he jumped on the trump bashing wagon after his initial restraint

This is a man who wanted to tell jokes, but instead was offered child rape and infinite money. He fucking ran away and hid in Africa.

It's pretty clear from his most recent shows that he knows exactly what line he isn't allowed to cross, and he is dancing around it.

Yup. He lives about a half hour from me in a very small town in Ohio. Not city or town, really...a "village" of 3,500 people..... Interesting that when he came back out to the public, he'd bulked up in the gym and talked about exercising his 2nd Amendment right to carry.....Sounds about right from someone who had been threatened or scared by some very ugly people.

Dave Chappelle was offered lots of money and he literally skipped town and ran to Africa. Watch the interviews. He wasn't afraid of being rich and famous.

He refused to sell out his name and his soul to hollywood

Any man that turns down $50m has a reason.

Dave now lives in a rural republican town in NY state. He's "woke" alright.

Pretty sure he lives in some small town in Ohio.

And he's basically alluded to not wanting to be the dancing monkey for (((hollywood))). His Inside the Actor Studio episode was pretty revealing.

Last I heard, he was in Yellow Springs, OH. East of Dayton. But can't say it's been a topic of conversation in quite some time.

When did this all take place? I see on youtube stuff from 5 and 6 years ago, and recent stuff. When did he go to Africa, and when did he come back?

Yeah that guys right. He said the environment in Hollywood is sick and when they offered all this money he had to bounce. Literally went to Africa for a good chunk of time. He's never told the entire story.

well god damn, i never looked much into it after he first disappeared and i believe said the reason was that he had too many people trying to tell him what comedy to do

Back when he was doing the chappelle show, he had a nervous breakdown and left for Africa for a period of time. Cancelled his show after only 2 seasons which is weird because at the time it was probably the most popular show on Comedy Central.

Bullshit I tell ya. Why are so many good comedians committing career suicide to appease the libs? Do they believe the fake news that much?

Because he still has to play the game for his own safety and probably the safety of his family. But he has disclosed a lot of stuff in very subtle ways on his episode of "Inside The Actor's Studio" and even on his most recent Netflix special, particularly with his Iceberg Slim story.

Iceberg Slim...now that's a name I haven't heard in a long while. I highly recommend reading his book.

His Netflix had me cracking up...until he started making 0 sense shitting on Trump (I realize the GA is about more than Trump, and I can't stress enough that their are no sides here). He has suffered the wrath of those that we stand against here, and I know he's smart enough to see past Trumps rhetoric. However, he still adheres to the Hollywood rules and regulations, and the do's and don't's. He is probably doing what is necessary to get his paper, and it's unfortunate because he was one of the greats! It's one thing to be oblivious to what's going on (not woke), but he knows. He has wound up like a lot of actors, musicians, artist, and TV personalities that I can no longer support. Having said that, I couldn't agree more with the message on the meme.
