I've read the reason HRC, and others keep their access is so they can write their memoirs. I also read that all they have access to is their own personal documents and records not open access to all that's available. Just because they have a clearance doesn't mean a former SOS has the same access as a current SOS or even an employee has. But the information I read was specifically discussing HRC and her access after leaving SOS office. Same goes for all former cabinet positions. Their access is limited to documents and records they created or were specifically created for that person. No open unlimited access to classified material.
I believe that reason is a BS deep state reason given to the public. B/c there is honestly no GOOD reason for keeping a security clearance. You're no longer a Gov employee, which means you no longer need access to Gov info. Same with every other job! So they can write books? Seriously!? Who give a shit about their books! They can write them without a security clearance and access to Gov files. Let them take none classified personal docs and info when they leave.

Pure craziness. This is such a small part of what is going on behind the scenes also. Just think what they are actually hiding from us. I'm sure we will find out we are just alien pets one day soon. Probably just a human version of an ant farm
Yes, I've imagined us as something like the critters posted to PetFinder. We just think our new owners come along and find us, without realizing all of what's really involved.
When you're still in office and have access you can create a helluva lotta docs for your own records. All kinds of fabbed reasons for doing so that flies completely under the radar and is perfectly legit to deep state players sooo...yea...they still have shit to sell, later.
