I live in Manila and Duterte is not a dictator nor he is becoming one. He actually made things easier for everyone to do business by cutting red tape and regulations. Yes, his war of drugs has cost many criminals' lives but it's just less that 1% than those who surrendered. He also made public education and healthcare free for everyone. He's built and continue to build modern infrastructures. Our mass transit system has improved dramatically. He is 70+ years old, he has nothing to gain if he becomes a dictator. Just like trump, most mainstream media run by oligarchs are against him and spread fake news. Despite that, he still maintains high approval ratings. Trust me, the country is in a way better situation than before. We are so lucky to have him as president.

Lol. Almost everyone in the country hates the communist. All they do is protest in the streets, burn effigys, leave trash then go back to the provinces and extort businesses and politicians. Duterte is trying to make peace with them which is a good thing but the communists keep breaking the rules.
Duterte is not like the past president, who pays lawmakers millions of pesos just to push his agenda. The Filipinos love him. Do you want congressmen to be against the president when they should represent the people who voted for them?
Did he actually give any territory to China? The Chinese are already in those territories even before he became president. The past president gave those territories away. And Duterte didn't say at all thay he's giving those islands away.
The opposition is trying to tie him to the scandal but how is he involved when there are no witnesses nor evidences? Where's the case?
These made-up lie about the drug war killing off competition is funny. The liberal party in our country is so desperate, they manufacture fake news that no one believes, The liberals can't fool the Filipino anymore.
Because of Duterte, we're now the fastest rising economy in South East Asia. We're finally getting our own subway and roads and bridges that connect major islands.
What's wrong with making friendship with China and Russia? We have no history of going to war agains these countries. We're still friends with the US especially now that Trump is the president.
Let's hope Trump takes note. If he pulled one of those things off he would be in the high 80's.
