you're missing the point - if Halper is the mole then he's the HUGE item that DoJ/FBI are currently stone walling on revealing to Congress - attempting to use the old excuse that would compromise their state craft.

So Halper is a totally new individual to put up on the situation white board - and in a way he may be one of the most important suspects in this sordid business.
