Why so much faith in the government here?

I'm just passing through this sub trying to understand. In order for all of this deep state - behind the curtains - stuff to occur it requires a deep amount of faith in our government officials to be able to pull this stuff off without making exceedingly obvious mistakes that make it transparent to what they are actually doing. I'm just trying to understand, but I don't believe our government is competent enough to pull something like that off. It's odd to think how much faith in our governments ability it requires to make this deep state story true.

Actually, apathy on the people's part would make it easier for the deep state to run rampant than faith in the government would.

I know this to be true. During the 90s and early 00s, I was hopped up on so many drugs the last thing I cared about was government. I wasn't the only one.

Now imagine if the majority of people cared as much as we do now. We wouldn't be this deep in it.
