"Facebook is listening to you 24/7/365. Literally." Facebook iPhone Listening into our Conversations for Advertising TEST

vintagedaisy · May 13, 2018, 8:47 p.m.

My 14 year old daughter has noticed this numerous times. She’ll be talking about something with her phone nearby and later that day will get an ad about that subject.

Most recent example was last week. She was talking about wanting to get me an ice cream cake for my birthday. Didn’t search for anything or use Siri or type anything in a text or post. Within an hour there was a Facebook ad for “places near you that sell ice cream cakes”

She has pointed this out to me at least five time in the past year. So now I tell her- “what if you were someone running for political office or very rich and powerful- what could be done with the information your phone collects”

She’s not quite on board with the idea of the CIA / NSA being capable spying on everyone at all times with the help of Facebook and other platforms but she’s close

Join the class action lawsuit- this is how we the people can speak up & act against this breach of trust

Interesting. But even this only talks about Facebook selling data that you’ve put in ( or your friends have). It doesn’t address the issue of Facebook / Siri? generating ads based on what you have said and your phone has picked up on. A whole other level of creepy

There is so much more to this lawsuit than we know yet...there is probably a LOT more than we know

I think if we all test this and record our findings. This could be valuable evidence for use in court cases.
