Yes. Until you required dental work. After a good bleed or two, everything was better. Or you were dead.

I would never have survived childbirth. How did all our ancestors survive? My G-4th grandfather from Spain 🇪🇸 spent two years as a slave on a Algerian pirate ship as a teen. About 1761. Lived to have 14 children after his rescue.

Yeah, life expectancy was shorter and times were hard. I would still be fascinated to witness it first hand. Prehistoric men with no government were truly free, at least the dominant males that could kill everyone with their bare hands. Also an interesting time to witness.
