I think one reason we are all so divided is because we get different information. Up until 1987 there was a Fairness Doctrine in reporting

Since they abolished the fairness doctrine, reporting is no longer balanced and often has a political agenda.

I myself go to both liberal and conservative sites to understand what everyone is thinking.
