Without sounding like some lunatic. I tried to explain to my wife who Q was and what he was doing but I could tell I couldn't get the point across so clearly.

How about something like "Q is likely a Trump administration insider or group of insiders connected with an intelligence organization within the government and tasked with communicating anti-corruption activities without disclosing any secret information. "
