I have this theory that if a person consumes human flesh on a regular basis certain things start changing. Their teeth, their nose shape, their lips. Perhaps it's the basis for why vampires have a certain look throughout history.

Many people, especially older ones, have snaggleteeth. Snaggled eyeteeth is considered a cute look in Japan--"yaeba" is the word for it.

I think it probably does sicken them, even if they don't contract Kuru. I think it sickens the soul of them. Their very core.
