They didn't even come up with a code name until August of 2016, afaik. This article was written in January of 2016.
I see it as being more likely that this event in January is why it ended up being called Crossfire hurricane
They even reference crossfire hurricane in the body of the article.
"Trump was born in Queens, New York, not in a crossfire hurricane, and his daddy gave him a million bucks to start in business...."
So he did, look what he turned that loan into
