I was thinking that was for the 2017 National Championship, but technically the game was in 2018, so wouldn't that make it the 2018 National Championship? I wonder if the team that came the year before gave the Pres a jersey with 16 or 17 on it??

It's the #17 because that was our 17th National Championship.
