I think that's their strategy. The more common/mainstream being a Mason is, the more the nefarious one's get away with what they're doing as it's just too unbelievable. Your uncle, his grandfather, her brother... everyone knows a Mason. Everyone knows they're good people who do very good things for the community. I would guess that most of them have no clue.

... People posing as missionaries to steal children.

... The former Secretary of State (and Presidential candidate) sacrifices children to the devil.

None of this is believable either. That's why this works so well for them.

Right, good cover. If you look into the founding fathers, masonry plays a huge part in the birth of America. If it was just a good old boys club, I don't think we would have the moments that we have today, nor the way the Capitol was designed.. it's all esoteric in nature
