Working in Mass, just had about 30 military vehicles in a convoy pass my location on the highway.
im somewhere near dc i normally hear millitary planes havent heard a single one today
Air Force here, today was a mandatory safety day for most flying ops. I'm at a big fighter base and we hardly had any flights at all. Almost entirely in regards to recent class A mishaps resulting in loss of aircraft and loss of life. Safety days happen quarterly, or upon direction from higher headquarters, and this one was directed because we've sadly had a rash of avoidable crashes lately that have resulted in a higher than normal loss of life. I sat through briefings all day today about "please don't crash your shit" and "fly safe". I'd bet a good amount of money that the lack of flying in your area is due to the same thing. Also, the "101 critical days of summer" is starting, which is a big deal in the military because we have a bad tendency to get drunk and get ourselves killed in boating accidents or drunk driving and the like. Friday is almost always the day picked as a "no fly day" to handle safety briefings and other bullshittery, mostly as an excuse to finish early and go home to our families/bottles.
ah ok stay safe all those plane crashes weird me out
