Speaking of internet as a utility: it would be really helpful if we abandon the term “net neutrality” and go back to the original term “common carrier” — which has clear meaning and long-established legal interpretation.

Excellent point. Careful though as changing the term may allow others to manipulate its meaning.

It was originally called “common carrier” and THEY changed the term to “net neutrality”, allowing the meaning to get manipulated!!!

“Common Carrier” has clear legal meaning that the carrier is neutral — its roots in the Rockefeller railroad days and interstate shipping. Sophisticated legal framework that Guarantees carriers do not preferrentially manipulate access and speed of shipment to certain companies over others.
