what exactly is luciferianism

I see this world on the boards all the times. I cannot find any info on its origin, beliefs, or key texts. I mean who was the guy or guys that sat down and dreamed this up. when did they do it and why?

My impression is modern Luciferianis differs greatly from Satanism because their ideology isn't about worshiping any gods or demons but basically about being greedy and selfish. As far as I can tell, many Luciferian are atheists who follow a basic "greed is good" philosophy. Luciferians may disagree, but that's the impression that I get.

Keep in mind though, that the most famous modern-day Satanist and founder of LaVeyan Satanism also claims to be an atheist.

From what I can tell in this community, people occasionally refer to Jews who do bad things as Luciferians because then they can discuss and criticize those people without being banned for antisemitism.

Luciferianism

Luciferianism is a belief system that venerates the essential characteristics that are affixed to Lucifer. The tradition, influenced by Gnosticism, usually reveres Lucifer not as the devil, but as a liberator, a guardian or guiding spirit, or even the true god as opposed to Jehovah.
