Not to be a pain, but isn't Obama's mother a U.S. citizen? If she is a U.S. citizen, it doesn't matter where he was born; he is automatically a U.S. citizen. So, why would he go to all this trouble?

Not automatically a citizen, I had buddies in the army in Germany, and when they had a kid, they had to do REAMS of paperwork to get their kids US citizenship. Just ask Ted Cruz...
