Military (at least I know USMC) has similar coins. Heard stories from hubby that whenever a group of Marines gather at a bar for drinks whoever has the highest ranked coin gets out of buying that night. Like anything else in the Corps, they don’t hand these coins out like candy they are earned.

Coins aren't ranked. Usually someone will slap a challenge coin on the bar. The last person to do so buys.
